2 Geography- The study of the Earth’s plants, animals, people, and how they live. Location-Southern Africa, east of Mozambique Climate-Tropical climate, arid in south Landforms-Mozambique channel Fourth largest island.

3 Economics The study of how people manage resources by producing, exchanging, and using goods and services. Agriculture (coffee, vanilla, sugarcane) Industries (sugar, glassware, tourism) Imports (food, petroleum (oil & gas) Exports (sugar, coffee, vanilla)

4 Government A group of people who makes decisions for the country or state Type of Govt: Republic Independence: 7/26/1960 (from France) Legal system blah blah… Red stands for sovereignty, green for hope, white for purity.

5 Culture The way society behaves Indigenous beliefs, Christianity, Muslim Three- Malayo-Indonesian, French, Creole, Comoran Languages- French, Malagasy, English Life expectancy: 65 years Diseases: Malaria, rabies
