What is Membrane Pressing? Membrane pressing is a laminating process using heat, pressure, vacuum and adhesive to apply vinyl film or thermoplastic sheet to wood substrates with contoured surface designs.

The Pressing Process Parts are produced from MDF panels with panel saws and CNC routers Parts are then sprayed with adhesive

The Pressing Process The parts are placed in the bed on top of pins that elevate the parts from the table Vinyl film or thermoplastic sheet is then pulled over The material has to be wide enough to cover the outer seal that creates the vacuum

The Pressing Process High heat is then applied to soften the vinyl film or thermoplastic sheet as well as re-activate the adhesive Positive pressure (forced air from above) and negative pressure (vacuum from below) is applied to form the material around the parts

The Pressing Process When the vacuum is released, the bed is pulled out, the parts are cut from the material and the back of the parts are trimmed
