8 Sources for the Assessment Items NCDPI –What items are included? ELA, Math, Science at grade levels aligned to EOGs and EOCs –These items were developed by teachers in NC (through collaboration from NCDPI and NCSU Center for Urban Affairs and Community Services) –Formerly in the ClassScape System –Publisher = NCDPI_Benchmark Secure at the district level and intended for district benchmark use –Publisher = NCDPI_Classroom Available to ALL users and intended for classroom use

9 NCDPI Classroom and Benchmark Assessment Items Classroom and Benchmark Items (Formerly in the ClassScape System) 3-8 ELA: 5453 English II: 593 3-8 Math: 11186 Algebra I/Integrated I: 2376 5 Science: 1871 8 Science: 2297 Biology: 1635 Total: 25411+ (development is ongoing) These items are split into a bank for teachers to use daily for classroom assessment purposes (Publisher = NCDPI_Classroom) and a bank that is secure at the district level for benchmark purposes (Publisher = NCDPI_Benchmark).

23 Define Properties When creating an item, users must align it to a subject, grade level and standard (Question and Response Language will default to English, but this can be changed if necessary to one of the other language options).

24 Enter Content Question Content – This is where you enter the content of your question. Answer Choices – This is where you enter the possible answer choices.

25 Entering Content When you click on a box that says “Click here to Enter Content” you will see the content editor below.

26 Indicate the Correct Response Below the content for each answer choice, you have the option to check a box to indicate the correct answer. –In the example to the right, answer choice A is indicated as the correct answer.

27 Assign Points Value Below the content for each answer choice, you can assign the points value for the question. –Once an answer choice is indicated as the correct response, the points value will default to 1

28 Additional Options (if applicable) Tools and Manipulatives –Check Enabled –Select the online tools and manipulatives that apply for your item Formula Reference Sheet –You can attach files in any of the formats to the right and they will appear on screen with the item

29 Save and Preview Once all content is entered and all steps of the item creation process are complete, click on Save and Preview (in the bottom right hand corner of the screen)

31 Save and Save Again After you Preview the Item, you will click Save. On the next screen, select “Only to Me” and then click Save again.

32 Finding an Item after you Save After clicking Save, you will return to the Create Screen. If you want to find your item, follow the basic steps below. 1.Hover over Assessment Admin 2.Click on Find an Item, Passage or Rubric 3.In Item Central, click Created By 4.Click Me (or the blue number of items in the Me box) 5.Click on View Results
