20 Significant Safety Achievements- 3/13 The “Lab Area Housekeeping” self assessment report has been completed and submitted to OCA. Approximately 40+ old gas cylinders have been removed from the Building 70 gas cylinder cage. There are only a few more to go. Obtained a tasked-based JHA for off-site transport of some compressed gas cylinders needed for a remote location research project. Four Activity Hazard Documents (AHD) were given an annual internal review and update. We have achieved an all-time low for incomplete safety training assignments (66).

21 Short Term Safety Outlook- 4/13 Start work on the “On the Job Training” self-assessment project. Develop EETD “New Hire Orientation” training materials. Follow-up on CATS items from the housekeeping self- assessment. Approximately 500 “old chemicals” will be removed from EETD lab areas on 4/2/13. Work with EHSS to develop a process for identifying and removing orphan chemicals from labs. Develop a procedure for returning empty gas cylinders. An EETD Safety Committee Meeting will be held on 4/4/13. A “Traffic Safety” brown bag seminar will be held on 4/12/13.
