9 MATHEMATICS Honors College Prep and College Prep Survey *AP Calculus BC *Multivariable Calculus *Pre-Calculus Honors *Algebra II with Trigonometry Honors *AP Calculus AB *AP Statistics Any student who completed these courses with a B- or better is eligible and encouraged to take AP Statistics AP Computer Science Geometry *Algebra II with Trigonometry Geometry Survey Algebra II Discrete Math Algebra I Survey These electives courses have prerequisites. 10 Science Two year graduation requirement, three or four years recommended Placements made by teacher Physics is the most common freshman course Most sophomores take Chemistry, Chemistry Survey or Chemistry Honors

11 Social Studies Two years graduation requirement, one must be US History, three or four years of Social Studies recommended Placements made by teacher for most courses Sophomore Course Options: - World History: Ancient to Modern (college prep or college prep survey) - AP Psychology, AP Economics or AP European History * AP courses are college level * A Social Studies Department meeting is required before course registration * There may be a summer reading expectation

12 World Languages No high school graduation requirement, colleges expect 2-4 years Placements made by teachers HPHS offers Spanish and Spanish for Native Speakers, French, Italian, Chinese and Hebrew Spanish is the only World Language taught at College Prep Survey level Spanish and French have AP courses All courses have honors options beginning with the second year’s course
