1. #14: Foolish Thief – Dying Without Jesus

2.  Isaiah 53:12 – Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors.

3.  “And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And He was numbered with transgressors.”

4.  “For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me, ‘And He was numbered with transgressors’; for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment.”

5.  At that time two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and one on the left….The robbers who had been crucified with Him were also insulting Him with the same words.

6.  What the whole region knew  Luke 6:17 – Jesus came down with them and stood on a level place; and there was a large crowd of His disciples, and a great throng of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon….”

7.  Luke 24:18 – “One of them, named Cleopas, answered and said to Him, ‘Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days?”

8.  The charges against Jesus  Matthew 27:37 – And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, “This is Jesus the king of the Jews.”

9.  Matthew 27:40, 42-43 -- …and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross….” “He saved others; He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him.”

10.  Matthew 27:45 – Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour.

11.  Matthew 27:54 – “Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, ‘Truly this was the Son of God.’”

12.  “Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, ‘Certainly this man was innocent.’”

13.  The foolish thief  Luke 23:39 – One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!”

14.  Luke 23:40-42 – “But the other answered, and rebuking him said, ‘Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.’”

15.  … “And he was saying, ‘Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!’”

16.  Matthew 16:1-3 --The Pharisees and Sadducees came up, and testing Jesus, they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven. But He replied to them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?

17.  John 6:36, 40 – “But I said to you that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe….For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”
