2. Start with a square piece of paper, the coloured side up. Fold in half one way, then open.

3. Then fold in half the other way and open.

4. Turn the paper over to the white side. Fold the paper in half, crease well and open.

5. Then fold again in the other direction.

6. Using the creases you have made, bring the top 3 corners of the model down to the bottom corner.

7. Now flatten the paper. It should look like this.

8. Fold top triangular flaps into the centre.

9. Fold the top point downwards and crease.

10. Now open the three last folds, so it should look like this.

11. This step is called the petal fold, Open the uppermost flap of the model, bringing it upwards and pressing the sides of the model inwards at the same time. Flatten down, creasing well.

12. : Fold front flap down.

13. Fold the back flap down so it should look like this.

14. On the top layer, fold the top corners in to the centre line, and repeat on back.

15. : Form the wing by lifting up from the inside, and twisting the wing forwards, then squashing down. Repeat for other wing.

16. Fold top of model down as shown.

17. Now fold the beak upwards,- crease, then downwards.

18. Cut ONLY 3 cm on the top layer as shown.

19. This is how the owl should look like now.

20. Fold top flaps upwards to form feet.

21. Turn owl over and cut slits through the top layer only as shown.
