7 Few animals are better equipped for life on earth than the cockroach. They can live almost anywhere, eat almost anything and survive for weeks on almost nothing. They can withstand heatwaves and cold spells. In tests, they survive radiation a hundred times stronger than what it takes to kill a human. Cockroaches are so successful at staying alive that they have survived for more than 350 million years...since before the dinosaur age.
