Branches of ENTOMOLOGY Agricultural & Forest entom – pollinators of fruit crops, destroyers of economically important trees & plants, predators of destructive pests, commercial products like dye, silk & honey Forensic entom – on TV like CSI: crime secene investigation, analysing insects near to or attached to decomposed victims, identifying the precise location a murder originally occurred, also, determines time of death of corpse Medical & Veterinary entom – parasites of human and livestock, vectors of diseases carrying fungi, viri or bacteria Research, Applied & Extension entom – study numerous aspects of insects like its microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, behaviour, taxonomy and much more Cultural entom - rooted in anthropology, natural history (social science, humanities, natural science) – exploring the parallel, connections & influence of insects/arthropods on human population and vice versa.
