Before an Emergency Discuss shelter-in-place with your family and coworkers. What to do if instructed to Shelter-in-Place Go inside your home or building Preferably in a room with no windows Stay inside Listen to the radio or watch TV Turn off heating and cooling systems Close all windows and doors If instructed tape your doors/windows Keep your pets inside. Keep car vents & windows closed when traveling. DO NOT use the car air conditioner/heater or vents.

If Requested, Prepare to Evacuate If the situation escalates you may be asked to evacuate. Stay tuned to emergency alerts on the TV or radio for additional instructions. Pack only what your need: Clothes, Medicine, Baby supplies, Flashlight Portable radios, Cash, Checkbook Follow evacuation routes as instructed Only use the telephone for emergencies Call 911 if emergency assistance is required.
