Taking Coordination, Guidance, Promotion, Consultation and Service as its objectives, CFNA works in the following areas: It encourages a fair and orderly market. It protects the interests and lawful rights of its members and of the industry. It promotes industry development. The chamber of commerce assists members to explore the international market. It provides its members with training and consultancy on market, client and regulations. It coordinates to settle trade disputes of member companies. It reflects suggestions and opinions from members and the industry to the government, and contributes its suggestion and comment when the government is making new policies. It guides members to make sure that their business operation is in accordance with relevant laws. It organizes exhibitions and forums. CFNA represents 6,000 members and has strong influence in China’s food industry. Members include local manufacturers, as well as importers, agents and distributors of imported food, who represent 70% of China’s food import value. As the imported dairy products receive more consumers’ positive feedback in the Chinese market these years, the CDTIDF has successfully attracted more than 350 enterprises deal with dairy products from both domestic and overseas yearly to participate this annual trade fair. The CDTIDF this year was widely supported and participated by related government management departments, and being honored to have distinguished guests such as Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, China Food and Drug Administration, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China, Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China, General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and China Development Bank, etc. During the forum, except for the introduction of management system of dairy products by related government departments and associations, representatives from overseas manufacturers, domestic experts and leading companies in the industry have also met up for discussions on the spot. It is the only China national association to promote agricultural products international trade. It has more than 6,000 member companies, among which 700 are in the meat processing and trading business. The trade volume of its member company’s accounts for 90% of the nation’s total. The China International Meat Conference (CIMC) held by CFNA concluded in Beijing on 12-13 Sep. 2013. In order to promote international meat trade environment and to strengthen the communication between foreign and domestic meat industry, CIMC is held yearly and choose main city of meat trade, which has been successfully held for three sessions, and was widely recognized and supported in the meat industry. The conference will focus on not only on topics of trade environment, meat trade trend, domestic meat consumption, sales channels, government policy, food safety, financing problem, but also has match making between foreign suppliers and importers, export companies and foreign importers, importers and retailers, supermarket, domestic meat suppliers and domestic group purchaser.
