Appropriate Snacks The snacks you give kids must be: 1.Healthy 2.Easy and quick to make and fun!

Cooking for Kids Safety First: 1)Ask the parents if it's okay to make the recipe. 2) Ask if the kids are allergic to anything. 3) Keep the children away from the hot stove. Suggestion: When preparing meals for young children, to keep them in sight, out of mischief, try having them draw on pieces of paper to be used as place mats for everyone's place at the table. They can also set the table, pour water etc.

What NOT to feed kids under 3 years old…. Hard candy Chunks of meat Raw carrots Popcorn Jelly beans Nuts Raw apple slices Hot dogs Gumdrops Grapes

Good Snack Ideas….. Ants on a Log *Celery *Raisins *Peanut butter Take a stalk of celery and rinse it with cold water. Put peanut butter on the celery (or the log) and sprinkle raisins on top of the peanut butter. My suggestion: Regular cream cheese in place of the peanut butter tastes great, too! Toasted Cheese *Cheese *Bread *Tomato (optional) Put the cheese and tomato on the bread and put into the oven at a low setting. Watch until the cheese melts and then take it out and pronto! Warm and delicious! You can also use the microwave instead of the oven. Peanut Butter Apples * Apples * Peanut Butter Slice apples with a sharp knife and use a butterknife to coat each apple slice with peanut butter. Add raisins if desired.

More ideas…… English Muffin Pizzas: In the toaster oven put an english muffin that already has red sauce, cheese and other toppings on it. Toast until cheese is melted. Wait until cools down to feed kids.English Muffin Pizzas: In the toaster oven put an english muffin that already has red sauce, cheese and other toppings on it. Toast until cheese is melted.
