3 Invention: Reese’s Peanut butter cups In 1920 the Reese’s peanut butter cups were born in Frosty hill in York county in Pennsylvania on May, 24 th 1879. Before, Harry called the peanut butter cups penny cups because they were sold for one cent. His manufacturing plant was 100,000 sq. ft. and it opened in August 1957. Under The Hershey’s company’s hands, the Reese’s franchise has continued to thrive and expand. Reese’s peanut butter cups were loved by many people and still are today!

4 Inventor: Harry Burnett Reese Harry invented the Reese’s peanut butter cups in the 1920’s. Harry grew up working on a farm. He married around 1900. Harry had 16 kids. Harry was hired to work the Hershey’s dairy farm in Hershey, PA. While working there he caught the candy fever and started making candy creations in his basement. In 1920 he set up his own company called the HB Reese Candy Company. Reese died of a heart attack on May 16 th in 1956.
