1 Mike Dirnt By Jack Alston

2 Mike Dirnt Mike Dirnt is the bassist from Green Day. His real name is Michael Pritchard. He got his nickname from when he used to play the air bass in his school band, he used to make the noise “dirnt” with his mouth.

3 What He Does Mike plays bass, sings and plays keyboard for a few different bands. The bands that he is playing in and has played in are: “Green Day”, “The Network”, “The Foxboro Hot Tubs”, “The Frustrators”, “Screaming Weasel” and “Squirtgun”.

4 How They Met In the cafeteria in Carquinez Middle School, ten year old Dirnt met Billie Joe Armstrong, with whom he bonded instantly. Armstrong began to teach Dirnt how to play guitar, and the two spent much time in Armstrong's bedroom learning to play songs by Ozzy Osbourne and Van Halen. They formed a group with fellow students Raj Punjabi on drums and Jason Andrew Relva on bass, with Armstrong playing lead guitar and Dirnt playing rhythm guitar.
