When a feed particle size distribution contains only a small proportion of large particles an EC or C chamber is often selected although the greater volume of particles would be accepted by a finer chamber.
The choice of an EC-chamber would result in unfavourable wear in the lower part of the chamber with lifetime shorter than expected and poor quality finished product .
The Flexi Feed mantle has two different profiles to accommodate this type of gradation so that a larger proportion of the finer feed is crushed higher in the chamber

Heavy Choke Mantle has been designed with a higher choke point in the chamber. The result is a lower throughput but the crusher can be operated at a smaller CSS setting. Ideal when reduction and not capacity is required and a tight setting cannot be achieved.
