4 Elie Wiesel He was only 15 when he and his family were transported to Auschwitz in a cattle car in 1944.

10 Elie Wiesel Librated to Buchenwald in 1945 with dad Dad died on a death march because he fell in the snow. Death March: A death march is a march that the Jews had to march in for more than 60 miles. If you fell over you were shot or if you ached in pain you were pulled over and shot.

14 Elie Wiesel Elie Wiesel was struck by a taxi cab in 1956. The accident caused him to be in a wheelchair for more than one year.
