Meat is a product needed very much in a diet of every person. Meat is unhealthy if eaten in excess. To avoid many of the negative effects of eating meat, you should remember to keep moderation in eating and selecting the most valuable and least harmful species of meat.

Fish meat has a high content of iodine, necessary for the production of thyroid hormones. It also contains a lot of vitamin D which prevents osteoporosis. There are vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamins of B group protecting the nervous system in the fish meat, too. A lot of potassium which naturally lowers blood pressure is included in the meat as well.

A liver contains lots of useful substances such as retinol, vitamins B2, B5 and B8, selenium and zinc, which favourably affect the condition of the skin and hair. In a liver there is a lot of copper which prevents the oxidation process in cells.

Red meat has much iron and vitamin B12. Eating them helps in the process of treatment of anemia. Eating it is very helpful for people with the shortage of iron. The meat contains L-carnitine, which participates in the burning of fat.

White meat provides a lot of proteins, calcium, iron, and vitamin B12. With the components, our nervous system works properly.

On avere, the meat contains 70% water 17.5% proteins 0.6% carbohydrates 9% fat and 4.8% minerals. Most proteins (up to about 23%) is in poultry, particularly in the hen and turkey breast. In other meats its content can be up to about 14%, as the average greasy pork. An average piece of meat contains:
