23 23 Messe Frankfurt | Heimtextil 2015 Consumer attitudes to home textiles -The trend towards a more minimalist furnishing style with little role for home textiles has continued for years. -Traditional curtains are on the retreat -Consumers are spending ever more on furnishings but not on home textiles -Consumers to not perceive textiles as valuable -Renovation cycles are very long -Home textile sales are strongly price driven -According to a current representative GfK study: -87% of Germans believe that home textiles make rooms more beautiful -94% value the „privacy“ aspect of drapes and curtains -But only 40% of Germans know that home textiles also reduce heating costs and noise.
