Horizon 2020

4 Activities to Date Analysis of data (Cordis; European Commission) on African participation in funded FP7 RI projects

5 African Participation in FP7 RI Projects 16 funded projects – all Support and Coordination Actions 10 projects in execution, 6 completed Network of 267 partners over the 16 projects – Median consortium size = 14 partners Coordinators from 8 countries (Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Italy, South Africa, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom)

6 African Participation in FP7 RI Projects cont. 29 participations by 22 legal entities – 4 main categories of legal entities 12 African countries represented EU funding for African FP7 RI project participation ~€2M Projects fall within 4 key thematic areas (although in many instances cross-cutting) + support initiatives (e.g. NCP)
