But she then fell in love with her fathers secretary and her father disapproved saying that she was to marry a more wealthy man. So he locked her in a little house because she disagreed of what her father said. There once was a young Chinese maiden called Knoon Shee. She lived in a Palace with her father who was a very wealthy man.
Whilst she was locked away she made a note which read ‘Gather thy blossom, ere it be stolen.‘ her lover Chang the secretary then read the note and came to her rescue. They escaped through the apple orchids and then were chased over a bridge by her evil father. They quickly fled to Chang’s house by sailing across the river in a boat. As the two lovers settled at the house knowing that they were finally safe from her father and at last together… The were tired from the eventful day and lay down to rest.
But as the two lovers slept Koong-se’s evil father crept up on the house in the night and set it on fire. Giving away his daughter just to keep his rules firm… As the two perished and became ashes the Chinese Gods looked down and felt sadden by the fathers actions on their love and reincarnated them both as doves, this way they can remain two love birds forever…..
