Conducted Social Service Programme under the banner of NSS & YRC Wings – Mega Blood Donation Camp on 26 April 2014 Another value added service to student community – CET-KEA Pre-Counselling & Career Guidance Programme on 18 May 2014

26 Intelligent Agricultural System
Outstanding Student Projects - EC Intelligent Agricultural System Built by making use of PIC microcontroller and GSM mobile technology, in addition to other hardware. Helpful in ensuring faithful irrigation of farm land by monitoring the following: Moisture level of the soil Sensing the atmospheric temperature Detecting voltage levels of AC & switching On/Off the water pump Sending the messages automatically about all these activities to farmer’s mobile phone.

27 SOLAR-POWERED SMART PEDESTAL LIGHTING SYSTEM
Outstanding Student Projects - EC SOLAR-POWERED SMART PEDESTAL LIGHTING SYSTEM Aims at providing a smart street lighting system for a village by harvesting solar energy. The system not only powers the street lights, but also detects the direction of pedestrian movement and illuminates their path. By integrating all the street lights, it is possible to systematically help the pedestrians to reach the destination. It can also be used for household lighting as it works by sensing the thermal signature of human body. Project is sponsored by VGST.

28 Outstanding Student Projects - CV
INNOVATIVE WAY FOR DISPOSING OFF PVC DUST IN THE FORM OF ALTERNATIVE CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL Objective was to find the suitability of PVC Dust to be used in conventional concrete. Strength parameter tests yielded satisfactory results. By replacing Cement with PVC dust in concretes, substantial cost reduction is possible. Has got long term impact in preserving the costly natural resources and also the environment. Project sponsored by KSCST.

29 Outstanding Student Projects - CS
GET CONNECTED Development of a web application facilitating the corporate organizations to accumulate employee details in a structured format, in order to generate reports as and when required. The profiles of the employees can be easily customized and also includes various features like resume builder, business letter formats, signature, search, notice, study material, calendar and discussion centre.

30 SOLAR ENERGY BASED FARMER-FRIENDLY DRYING SYSTEM
Outstanding Student Projects - ME SOLAR ENERGY BASED FARMER-FRIENDLY DRYING SYSTEM The device uses solar energy to carry out drying. Solar radiation absorbed by the solar panels heats the atmospheric air and is blown to the drying chamber. This causes reduction of moisture content in the vegetables at a faster rate. Economical than conventional dryers. Project is sponsored by KSCST.

31 HIGH EFFICIENCY SOLAR WATER HEATER
Outstanding Student Projects - ME HIGH EFFICIENCY SOLAR WATER HEATER Fabricated by using high reflective aluminum foil in the form semicircular trough beneath the tubes that concentrates the radiator effectively so as to increase the water heating rate. The equipment proved efficient in terms of heat absorption. Compact and economical.

32 HHO (Hydroxyl Gas) BASED SCOOTER CAR
Outstanding Student Projects - ME HHO (Hydroxyl Gas) BASED SCOOTER CAR Developed a hydroxyl gas producing unit to be used with petrol engines. The unit breaks the water by ‘electrolysis’ to form hydroxyl gas. Substitutes petrol up to 20% and increases the thermal efficiency of the engine. Consumption of petrol can be minimized by substituting “hydroxyl gas” in petrol fueled engines.

33 Excellent Results – May/Jun 2014 VTU Exams
Hearty Congratulations to all the Students for making SMVITM, Bantakal proud……..
