Data Warehouse 11G Upgrade Forum 13

Data Warehouse Upgrade Many of the features in the Data Warehouse are the same as before, however the navigation and overall look has changed 14

Home Page To get back to the home page, click “Home” Under “Recent”, the last six reports ran by the user are displayed and can be clicked on for quick access. 15

Navigation Currently navigation has been conducted by clicking the links or tabs at the top of the page. The new navigation in 11G is a drop down menu with the title of “Dashboards” next to the home button. Select the dashboard that you would like to see. 16

Saving Customizations Defaults from the current data warehouse should be saved in the new data warehouse. What used to be called “defaults” are now called “customizations.” Once a dashboard is selected select the business unit, budget ledger, and budget scenario and click “apply.” 17

Saving Customizations (cont’d) After “apply” has been selected for your home page settings click the bullet point icon next to the question mark in the upper right hand corner of the screen – then click “Save Current Customization,” then name that customization. You can also check the box to make that customization your default. Then click “ok.” 18

Report Filter Search Changes When searching through a dept., fund, or other report filter before running a report you can browse numerically and check more than one fund at a time. By selecting your criteria this way you do not need to transfer your selections over to another box, simply click on the area outside of the criteria options after you have checked your selections. 19

Report Filter Search Changes (cont’d) You also have the option of running broader search, including letters, by clicking “more/search.” Be sure to uncheck “match case” and change the search criteria from “starts” to “contains.” Using this search method you will need to move the criteria to the box at the right. Also make sure the “x” is removed from that box. Criteria can be moved same way as 10G - by using arrows or double clicking 20

Column Sort You can now sort by ascending or descending numerical order in a column by hovering over the yellow column header and clicking on the up or down arrow. 21

Breadcrumbs At the bottom left corner of the window you will see “breadcrumbs” which are links you can use to backtrack to a previous point. 22

Pivoting Reports Pivots are basically ways to rearrange the report without having to change filter data. On certain reports there are “built in” “prompts” pivots. These pivots can be dragged to create another column. They can also be dragged to create pivoted “sections” of data. 23

Pivoting Reports (cont’d) 1.Hover over the pivot until a grey sidebar appears. Then click and drag that sidebar. 2.Keep dragging that sidebar until you see an insertion point between columns where you would like the column to be inserted. Moving a Pivot Prompt to Create a Column: “Manage My Budget” Example 24

Pivoting Reports (cont’d) 3.The pivot dragged and dropped now becomes a column of its own. Moving a Pivot Prompt to Create a Column: “Manage My Budget” Example 25

Pivoting to Sections of Data Hover over then click and hold down on a grey bar of either the pivot or a column then drag it and hover it just over the top row of data until a grey area titled “sections” appears and drop it in that area. This breaks the pivot out into sections. 26

Pivoting to Sections of Data (cont’d) The sections can be moved back to pivot or column by grabbing the grey area of a section and moving it back to pivot or column. 27

Pivoting a Column Any filter column (yellow) can be dragged to become a pivot prompt or be pivoted into sections. When hovering over a column you will see a grey bar appear above the column header. That icon can be grabbed and moved to become a pivot prompt out into sections, just as what was done earlier with the pivot prompt. 28

Pivoting Drill Downs Drill down columns can also be pivoted by prompt, or brought out into sections just like the report data. 29

Inserting/Excluding, & Moving Columns in Drilldowns By right clicking on a column you can add, exclude, or move a column. 30
