3 Do you have the heart and spirit for service and a calling to help children in need? Provide academic mentorship to pre K – 12 th grade children in our Concordia communities – near or far. Concordia Teacher Corps’ sites serve children in pre school, early childhood, elementary, middle school, and high school grades. 3

4 Meet Erin McKee 4

5 My name is Erin McKee. I am a 2009 graduate of Concordia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in early childhood/elementary education. During my four years at CU, I volunteered at Faubion School with the SMART program and the I Have a Dream program at Rigler School. I also volunteered with the Black Parent Initiative and the homework club at Irvington School. After graduating from CU, I was accepted in the Teach for America program, where I spent 2 years teaching 2 nd grade in inner city Washington, D. C. I received my Master’s of Education degree and moved back to Portland. I teach and work as a part time faculty and background specialist with Concordia Teacher Corps. 5
