You don’t have to have a special qualification to be an author – you just need to be able to write something which other people want to read One of the most successful children’s authors is J K Rowling- she wrote the Harry Potter books which have sold between 400 and 450 million copies, making them one of the best-selling book series’ in history. Children can be authors too! One of the most well known young authors is Anne Frank. Written when Anne was a teenager, her diary describes her family's life in hiding during World War II. Books may be novels which describe imaginary events and people (FICTION) or books which are factual or informative (NON FICTION) Authors write books, articles and short stories
