2 What Happened The Revolt started the year of 66. The Jews discovered that the Roman governor had stolen big amounts of silver. 3 Who were the Leaders Rabbi Yochanan Ben Zakkai was one of the leaders. He was smuggled out of Jerusalem. Most of the leaders were killed by zealots but some escaped. 5 How was it resolved The Jews demanded independence. They got independence in the year 14 ce. At the end of the war, Simon was the only five sons of Mattathias that lived.
