J OB NEEDED TO LEARN THAT OUR G OD IS A GREAT AND MAJESTIC G OD !   Notice how God shows His greatness as He questions Job: Creation of the earth (38:4-6) Rising and setting of the sun (38:12) Origin of light and darkness (38:19- 21) Stars and other heavenly bodies (38:31-33) Workings of nature (39:26-27)

J OB NEEDED TO LEARN THAT OUR G OD IS A GREAT AND MAJESTIC G OD !   “Job, if you are going to question Me, you better know the answers to My questions!” (40:1-5)   Can you save and destroy? (40:6- 14)   When Job fully appreciates God’s greatness he repents (42:1-6)

D AVID SPOKE OF G OD ’ S OMNISCIENCE AND OMNIPRESENCE P SALM 139   5, 7-12 -- I can hide from other human beings, but I cannot hide from God, He is too great.   1-4, 13-16 -- Other human beings have only limited knowledge of me, but God is so great that His knowledge of me is unlimited.   6, 14, 17 -- Notice the Psalmist’s response to God’s greatness.

5 God’s Majesty and Greatness III. W HAT IS THE MAGNITUDE OF G OD ’ S GREATNESS ? I SAIAH 40   God gives people 5 reasons to change their faulty thinking, all centered on His majesty and greatness: Consider the deeds I have done (12- 14) Consider the nations (15, 17) Consider the vastness of our earth (22) Consider the rulers and powers (23- 24) Consider the stars, the universe (26)

H OW SHOULD WE RESPOND TO THE GREATNESS AND MAJESTY OF G OD ?   Isaiah asks three questions in God’s name to help us make the proper application of God’s overpowering greatness 1) 1) He rebukes our wrong thoughts about God’s Greatness (Isa. 40:25) 2) 2) He rebukes our wrong thoughts about how God sees us (Isa. 40:27) 3) 3) He rebukes our slowness to believe in God’s ultimate control (Isa. 40:28)

H OW SHOULD WE RESPOND TO THE GREATNESS AND MAJESTY OF G OD ?   Isaiah’s conclusion encourages us to develop God’s view of the world (30-31) 1) 1) God considers both the physical and spiritual realms. (See the five uses of “heavenly places” in Ephesians 1:3, 20; 2:6; 3:10; 6:12) 2) 2) Isaiah (Heb. 11:32-38) 3) 3) Abraham (Heb. 11:10-16) 4) 4) Paul (2 Cor. 4:16-18)

8 Will You Become A Christian? Hear The Gospel (Rom. 10:17) Believe That Jesus is the Son of God (John 8:24) Repent of Your Sins (Acts 17:30) Confess That Jesus is the Son of God (Acts 8:37) Be Baptized for the Forgiveness of Sins (Acts 2:38) Live Faithfully Until You Die (Rev. 2:10)
