BY FAITH ABRAHAM

Genesis 12:1-4 “The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you;

I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy- five years old when he set out from Haran.”

WHATEVER WHENEVER WHEREVER

Hebrews 11:8-11 “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the

promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.”

WHATEVER WHENEVER WHEREVER

Hebrews 11:17-19 “By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to

him, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death.”

WHATEVER WHENEVER WHEREVER

Abraham obeyed without knowing WHAT he would be doing.

Abraham obeyed without knowing WHERE he was going.

Abraham obeyed without knowing WHEN God would complete the promise.

Abraham offered up Isaac even though he didn’t know WHY God wanted this.

He offered up Isaac even though he didn’t know HOW God could fulfill his promise.

Trust in the promises of God overcomes worldliness. MacArthur

Trust in the promises of God always anticipates the future fulfillment of them.

Soren Kierkegaard said, “Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forward.”

Trust in the promises of God always acts on them.

Where is God leading you?

Abraham’s faith caused him to grasp the bigger picture- that God’s will was larger than his small life.

When he placed his faith in God he had a new vision, gained a renewed promise, and came to know God more deeply. That’s where God wants to take you!

When God gets us to the point of saying, “WHATEVER, WHENEVER and WHEREVER,” He is then able to fulfill His promises to us.

Until then He waits. On us
