(16 pupils multiplied by 1 minute is 16 minutes) In 1 minute, 3.450 L come out of the tap. 1 L= 1000 mL.3 L= 3 X 1000 = 3000 mL. 3.450 L = 3 L and 450 mL. 3000 mL + 450 mL = 3,450 mL.
