3. 3 Location Services issues discussed: –Presentation of Galileo satellite system by ETSI –Presentation of Wireline/Wireless Location Services by ATIS main outcome: –HIS renamed "Location Services" instead of "Location-based Services" –ATIS to review wider aspects (applications) for GSC-13 No Resolution on this subject Maintained as HIS for GSC-13: ATIS to continue as Prime PSO

4. 4 RF Exposure issues discussed: –Presentation of ARIB activities on EMC and Human Health Effects –Presentation of ETSI TC Safety activities main outcome: –Suggestion that new research work should include effects of combined use of Bluetooth headsets and radio terminals on the brain –Need to enhance perception of separation between manufacturers & standardisers, even though the standards are only test standards. Resolution GSC-11/13 re-affirmed unchanged as GRSC5/01 Maintained as HIS for GSC-13: ETSI to continue as Prime PSO

5. 5 Measurement Uncertainties & Calibration issues discussed: –Presentation of situation in ETSI main outcome: –Noted that work is stalled in ETSI and wish to relinquish Prime PSO responsibility –No other PSO volunteered to act as Prime PSO –After discussion it was agreed to keep the HIS open for another year Resolution GSC-11/14 re-affirmed unchanged as GRSC5/02 Maintained as HIS for GSC-13: ETSI to continue as Prime PSO

6. 6 Wireless Access including RLANs & Ad-hoc Networking issues discussed: –Presentation of status of ITU-R Activities in Broadband Wireless Access –Presentation by ARIB of Wireless LAN services in Japan –Presentation of ETSI TC BRAN update –Presentation of ETSI New Generation DECT –Presentation of by ISACC of Broadband Services in Rural and Remote Areas Resolution GSC-11/24 updated to include lower bands and agreed as GRSC5/03 Maintained as HIS for GSC-13: ISACC to continue as Prime PSO

7. 7 Intelligent Transport Systems issues discussed: –Presentation by ARIB of a DSRC basic application interface to extend application in vehicles –Presentation of ETSI ERM TG37 activities –Presentation of ITU-R Activities in ITS –Presentation of ITS Task Force Progress report –Presentation by TIA of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Communications Efforts Resolution GSC-11/08 & 11/09 merged & updated and re- issued as GRSC5/05 (ITS Task Force) Resolution GSC-11/11) updated and re-issued as GRSC5/06 (WSC Workshop) Maintained as HIS for GSC-13: TIA to continue as Prime PSO

8. 8 Radio Microphones issues discussed: –Presentation by ARIB of Digital Radio Microphones in Japan –Presentation of Radio Microphone Task Force Progress report main outcome: –objective of the Task Force is to update the relevant documentation for GSC –Consolidated output expected to be presented at GSC-13 Resolution GSC-11/23 updated and re-issued as GRSC5/04 Maintained as HIS for GSC-13: ETSI to continue as Prime PSO

9. 9 Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) & RF Identification (RFID) issues discussed: –Presentation of RFID related work in ETSI main outcome: –Need to try and bring Layer 1 & Layer 2 activities into Telecoms/Radio SDO world whilst ISO handles upper layers; noted recent ISO decision to reject active RFID in 900 MHz band. ETSI requested to develop a recommendation on this issue. –PSOs encouraged to assist in global harmonization of spectrum allocations –PSOs requested to provide Prime PSO with updated frequency allocations –Regional proposals for harmonization will be submitted to WRC 2007 for a future agenda item at WRC 2011 Resolution GSC-11/03 revised and agreed as GRSC5/10, named changed to "Network Aspects of Identification Systems" (issued an Opening Plenary resolution) Maintained as HIS for GSC-13: ETSI to continue as Prime PSO

10. 10 Software Defined Radio & Cognitive Radio issues discussed: –Presentation of TTA CR (Cognitive Radio) PG & Proposals –Presentation of ITU-R Activities in Software Defined Radio (SDR) –Presentation of Software Defined Radio / Cognitive Radio in ETSI –Presentation by ARIB on Dynamic Spectrum Needs, Research, and Development in Japan –Presentation of Software-Defined Radio (SDR) and Cognitive Radio Efforts PPSO update main outcome: –Some confusion on whether CR a subset of SDR or whether they should be treated separately. –Ongoing work and a new ITU-R Report noted. –PSOs requested to provide comments on the resolution for further review at GSC-13 Resolution GSC-11/10 updated and re-issued as GRSC5/09 Maintained as HIS for GSC-13: TIA to continue as Prime PSO
