1 Year 9 Hinduism Module Assessment Criteria for Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Award

2 Bronze Level If you manage to provide evidence in your own words of each of the 7 sections that follow you will demonstrate that you have achieved the equivalent of a C grade at GCSE

3 Bronze Level I can identify at least 4 of the male Gods (Shiva, Ganesh, Krishna and Brahma) and explain their significance I can identify at least 4 female Goddesses (Lakshmi, Durga, Saraswati and Parvati) and explain their significance I can identify 4 of the Hindu beliefs (the belief in God, Karma, Moksha and Reincarnation) and explain what they mean I can explain 2 Hindu festivals and explain their meaning, significance and how they are celebrated I can explain how Hindus use the Mandir for worship, the Arti ceremony and the meaning of Darshan I can explain at least 2 of the different ways a worshipper can reach a spiritual understanding of God in Hinduism I can explain how being a Hindu inspires and provides guidance for believers with 4 examples of my own

4 Silver Level If you manage to provide evidence in your own words of each of the 9 sections that follow you will demonstrate that you have achieved the equivalent of a B grade at GCSE

5 Silver Level I can identify at least 4 male Gods (Shiva, Ganesh, Krishna and Brahma) and explain their significance to a Hindu. I also understand how the Gods can be depicted in different forms and can provide examples of these I can identify 4 female Goddesses (Lakshmi, Durga, Saraswati and Parvati) and explain how they differ from one another I can explain the Hindu belief in God, the concept of Ahimsa (non-violence), Karma and Reincarnation I can also explain my understanding of the 5 rules of daily life for a Hindu I can identify and explain my understanding of 2 Hindu festivals and the Kum Mela pilgrimage I can explain how Hindus use the Mandir for worship, explain the Arti ceremony and the meaning of Darshan I can understand and demonstrate how the Murtis are made into living deities and are worshipped I can explain 3 of the different ways a Hindu worshipper can reach a spiritual understanding of God I can explain and demonstrate with 5 examples (Worship, Prayer, Pilgrimage, Puja and the Samsaras) how being a Hindu inspires and provides guidelines for believers

6 Gold Level If you manage to provide evidence in your own words of each of the 10 sections that follow you will demonstrate that you have achieved the equivalent of an A grade at GCSE
