9 History of Breaking the Cycle Breaking the Cycle began in New York in 1999 following the tragic Columbine High School shooting. It is an effort to stem the rising tide of youth violence.

10 History of Breaking the Cycle Since then, the assemblies have been held at hundreds of schools and colleges throughout the USA. Breaking the Cycle is now in England.
