6 Holston Valley Middle School Location: Sullivan County School District in Bristol, TN Size: 180 - 200 students in grades 6-8 Information: High percentage of economically disadvantaged Rural students and location Low parent involvement History of a drop in 7th grade TCAP and TVAAS scores Grade level teams consist of 3 academic teachers

7 Our Story Hitting Bedrock 2011-2012 Finding Gold 2012-2013 7th grade RLA scores fell to 21.21% proficient and advanced. 7th grade RLA scores rose to 46.0% proficient and advanced. Students with disabilities had an achievement level of 6.7% proficient and advanced in RLA. Students with disabilities had an achievement level of 22.3% proficient and advanced in RLA. Students with disabilities had a gap of 36.3%. Students with disabilities gap decreased to 29.7%.
