4 Mountbatten Brailler  Electric braillewriter/word processor  Has a built in memory, can store documents on it and emboss later or save files that you may want to emboss in future  Research has indicated that Mountbatten braillers are a fun way for preschoolers to begin learning the braille code and their alphabet alongside their sighted peers.  Does have a screen reader feature that allows teachers to view student work and to communicate back and forth with students on the brailler. Works best in grade one, which is perfect for the little preschoolers, who are just being introduced to braille.

6 Braille Plus from APH  Available with Quota funds!  For notetaker, go to applications  Hit 51 for wordprocessor  Begin document or hit menu to scroll through (you can also go through file explorer to open a document)  To review what has been written, dots 1,2,3, and spacebar- will read line by line  Backspace- *, new line- V (or ok)  Delete- control +d  Save –control +s  Can save on a flash drive, hard drive  Give file a name and choose folder  Go to utilities menu, go to “disk drive mode”- enter and the folder will show up in your computer as a flash drive- there you can retrIeve and print any documents  To create folders, do so in the file explorer on your hard drive on the Braille +.

8 Refreshabraille from APH  Is a tactile/ Braille display for computers, PDAs, IPhone and IPad  Very cool!  Works with the Braille+ Mobile Manager as well

10 BrailleNote APEX and Braille Note MPower  Can be viewed on your computer’s screen via KeyNote.  Dots 1,2,3,4,5,6 and spacebar gives you the main menu.  Go to word processor, give your document a name. Ctrl +S= saves  Can add/save books using the USB connection  Easily accessible to the internet

12 PacMate BX- Braille Keyboard  Is synced to your computer, using activesync.  Can be viewed on your computer’s screen via pm viewer or my mobiler.  F6- FSedit  F2-File, scroll down to new, begin typing text  When finished, hit F2- scroll down to “save as”- type in name of document  Hit tab (5,6 and spacebar) to get to save document as which file? Choose rich text.  Tab down to save- push enter (dot 8)  It will be automatically saved on the file on the desktop and ready to fix or print OR emboss! Easy access to the internet Download books onto them and read them using the braille display with audio. 
