3 Infrastructure matters The overall value of the pipeline is now £375 billion of investment Over £100 billion is investment in transport (road, rail, air) The largest investment in roads since the 1970s By 2020-21, the government will treble spending on strategic road enhancements from today’s levels and will invest over £28 billion in enhancements and maintenance of the road network.
