ELEMENT-2014 1 st International Workshop on Enhanced Living EnvironMENTs September 24th 2014, Wuerzburg, Germany http://www.aapele.eu/element14 The first edition of the International Workshop on Enhanced Living EnvironMENTs (ELEMENT-2014) is dedicated to the dissemination and evaluation of original contributions to architectures, techniques, protocols, components, orchestration, choreography and development related to the ELE area. Investigations, discussions and experiences from different stakeholders’ perspective on AAL technologies are welcome. The event is organized in the framework of the ICT COST Action IC1303 Algorithms, Architectures and Platforms for Enhanced Living Environments (AAPELE). IMPORTANT DATES Submission Deadline: June 29, 2014 (hard deadline) Notification of acceptance: July 29, 2014 Author Registration: August 12, 2014 Final Manuscript: August 12, 2014 Workshop Date: September 24th, 2014 TOPICS The focus of this workshop is on new architectures, methods, techniques, protocols, components and tools related to the Ambient Assisted Living Systems. These may include, but are not limited to the following topics: o Sensing and Monitoring. o ICT instrumentation and Middleware support for Smart Environments. o Human-Computer Interaction at AAL environments. o Environment Adaptation based on intelligence. o Intelligent Healthcare and Homecare Environments. o ELE Architectures and Platforms. o Key applications domains. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Authors are invited to submit research and application papers following the SPRINGER Manuscripts style. Papers should be submitted through EAI 'Confy' system, and have to comply with the SPRINGER format. We solicit the submission of academic workshop papers (14 pages) representing original, previously unpublished work. Submitted papers will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Papers should be prepared as the.pdf files and submitted electronically to the MONAMI 2014 online submission system (The workshop title should be selected). The Workshop proceedings will be published by Springer- Verlag in the LNICST series. The event features a Best Paper Award. Selected papers may be invited in a Special Issue, dedicated to the event (more info will soon be available, kindly check the ELEMENT website).
