4 CULTURE DEFINITION Culture is a set of values, beliefs, common understanding, thinking and norms for behavior that are shared by all members of a society.

5 DEFINING ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE Basically, organizational culture is the personality of the organization. Culture is comprised of the assumptions, values, norms and tangible signs (artifacts) of organization members and their behaviors.

9 ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE The assumptions, values, and beliefs that represent organizational behavior operate beneath the surface of organizational behavior. They are not directly observed, yet their effects are everywhere.

10 Organizational culture BELIEFS : Beliefs represent the individual’s perceptions of reality. VALUES : Values are more stable, long- lasting beliefs about what is important. ASSUMPTIONS : represent the deepest part of organizational culture because they are Unconscious.

21 Financial system Financial system  Internal Approval Processes : The best organizations have internal processes through  Checks & Balances : Be sure you have methods in place to provide accountabilityespecially to those in positions of leadership  Reporting :All organizations should have processes in place through which the Treasurer makes a financial report to Executive Leadership and/or membership each semester/year
