2 18 April 2007 Riga, Latvia 2 Goal To establish a network of institutions who have developed Job roles, Certificates, Training courses, … dealing with innovation and quality management.

3 18 April 2007 Riga, Latvia 3 Need Many institutions offer different certificates/ job role qualifications separately The value of a certificate is much higher if (a) it is linked to an accreditation association with members of many countries in the board (b) it is based on a shared European knowledge (c) it is based on a modular course architecture

4 18 April 2007 Riga, Latvia 4 (a) Association and Recognition EQN designs a joint model of how to integrate previous Leonardo projects consortia, industrial institutions, universities, … into an accreditation association The certificates issued by association will be recognised transnationally

5 18 April 2007 Riga, Latvia 5 (b) Shared European Knowledge EQN integrates representatives from a set of major European conferences in the IT and Services sector EQN plans to create an online knowledge space using and extending the existing software ( library.eurospi.net )

6 18 April 2007 Riga, Latvia 6 (c) Modular course architecture EQN established a set of quality criteria for new job roles to be accepted into the pool Main criterion - clear and modular course architecture (skill card standards)

10 18 April 2007 Riga, Latvia 10 Online Portal and Knowledge Library Existing skills assessment learning portals for job roles (automated exams of professions, …) Existing online publication library systems Links to existing job role qualifications are integrated into a portal which acts as a door opener for people searching for relevant qualifications This results in An online central portal for job role based qualification guidance and access to skill cards An online available case study library Access to numerous experience reports structured according to the key success factors analysed

11 18 April 2007 Riga, Latvia 11 Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, managed by Danube and IMC Krems EQN partners are founding board members The cooperation model is different depending on the organisation type The services are: Accreditation of organisations who offer specific job roles Accreditation of training institutions which provide training on specific job roles Certification of students Access to online knowledge library In general a model of the weak middle is agreed Foundation of EU-Certificates Association

12 18 April 2007 Riga, Latvia 12 First Founding Conference (5 December 2006, Krems, Austria) 43 participants from 16 countries 5 organisations – proxys to sign on their behalf Declaration signed by all attendees 18 countries covered General assembly for the official foundation Foundation of EU-Certificates Association
