2 As a student, I did not have many opportunities to travel, so I am very passionate about providing those opportunities to my students! After traveling to Uganda upon my college graduation, I felt a new thirst for learning that I never had before. I also felt that I could relate much easier to all types of people, especially those from cultures different than mine. International travel opens students eyes far beyond their home and school environment and provides countless connections for them to make with what they are learning in the classroom. The benefits I experienced from my own international travel have positively impacted my life in so many ways, and I can’t wait for my students to experience these benefits. Why travel?

3 Educational objectives To promote international understanding and a respect for a variety of cultures To clarify and deepen our understanding of the American identity and its values and beliefs through intercultural experience To expand our knowledge about culture and history and the basis for different values and beliefs To develop the interpersonal skills necessary to navigate a new environment with confidence, maturity and flexibility
