9 TM1 9 SP3: Enterprise Grade Server
Supportability Improve visibility into the health and performance of the TM1 Server Remove dependency on ‘dumps’ Provide IT engineer better diagnostic tools Combine Error and Message Log Provide Access to Message Log while Server is up (or hung) Powerful combination of logging and performance counters Monitoring Provide transparency into Server operations Implement about 25 counters of ‘interesting’ Server occurrences (how many sver Connections a server has accepted How many readers hold locks IT Perfman (Win), CA Unicenter (UNIX) Locate server operations at time of error Locate performance bottlenecks TM1 Top – Who holds locks / Centrally kill undesirable processes Logging Dynamically enabled logging facility Logging subcomponents controlled independently Granular level of verbosity Multiple logging destinations File Memory Remote System SP3 Supportability – increased Message Logging and Counters – Counters hooked up to Performance Monitoring tools. IT loves this stuff. © 2006, Applix, Inc. — All rights reserved.

Contextual Invocation of TI Process Create New Version Version 3 marked as ‘best case’ submittal CC 110 Expense Planning Version 4 Version 3 Assumptions Version Mgmt Marketing Programs Version 4 Travel Expenses Best Case 110% of Version 3 Equipment Worst Case In Progress Permit users to have their own version control with websheet access to TI. This example resonates with most – corporate standard is to have managers submit best and worst case budgets. TM1 permits each manager to have n number of versions to model, then decide which one to assign as the best case, and which one to assign as the worst case.
