FAITH COMES BY HEARING

2. Last Week Recap: 2 Peter 1:1
1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ
The faith we have obtained is the same for all believers; Christ’s own faith, and it’s by His righteousness.

3. 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The way we received faith to be born again was by the word. This is the same way we should live. The word causes faith in us to rise.
The just shall live by faith (by extension by the word… man shall not live on b...)

4. Mark 4:14
14 The sower sows the word.
Words are faith seeds. You reap the fruit of what you plant in your heart, positive or negative.
When you plant God’s word in your heart, you start experiencing God’s Life (2 Peter 1:4).

5. 2 Peter 1:4
4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

6. Mark 4:24-25
24 Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.
We should not be passive about what gets into our hearts; because it determines the what we speak, which determines the quality of life we live.

7. Josh 1:8
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

8. Expect a harvest based on your seed type! (Proverbs 18:20-21)

26 And He said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground,
The Kingdom to which you belong operates on seed principle and that seed is the word of God.

9. You may not remember what you ate through last year, but it worked!

27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.

The word will produce results anyhow; you don’t have to know how it works.

10. Mark 4:28
28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.
You are a good soil type designed to yield fruit naturally, automatically. Do not ruin the crop by prematurely harvesting it; be patient.
Secondly stop planting weed! It bears fruit as well and messes with the crop.

11. Do not only plant. You’ll know when it’s time to take action; to reap.
Mark 4:29
29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come."
When the fruit is ready, when the signs good, take action. Do not let the crop rot in the garden!

12. IN SUMMARY
1. Words are faith seeds. Whatever it is you are planting, you’re going to reap.
2. Once we’ve planted, we should trust the system to do it’s thing. It works.
3. We should avoid planting weeds and premature harvests. Both ruin the crop
4. We should boldly step forth and take in the harvest once it’s time.
