3. Minor Characters Abram – A Troop in the colony James – A little boy like Samuel. Pocahontas – The Powahatan chiefs daughter that helped Captain John Smith.

4. Themes I think one of the main themes is Faith, because they all have to have faith in each other to stay alive on the journey to Virginia. Another theme to me would have to be courage because all of them have to have courage in each and never give up to make it home.

5. Summary This book is mainly about a boy named Samuel and his journey to Virginia. He is from England and goes on a amazing journey across the Atlantic Ocean. His leader Captain John Smith teaches him so much like how to hunt. But as the Indians come around they go to war. But as worse comes they are low on food when they are getting ready to go home they can’t go or they will starve. So will hope rise and their lives survive?

6. Describing the Main Characters. Samuel: Samuel is really smart he is helpful and always prepared for anything. Captain John Smith: Captain John Smith is always wise and fair he his really smart and is always a great leader. Powahatan Chief – I think in this book he was very fair even though they did go to war he still helped them in the end.
