2. Scripture Reading Hebrews 8:10-12 (NIV) 10 This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 11 No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. 12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

3. Point # 1 When Jesus came up a little closer… we discover that He supplied us with the power to make the right choices by giving us an internal motivation. Hebrews 8:10 (NIV) 10... I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

4. Point # 2 When Jesus came up a little closer…we discovered that He did not want to be a far off God who was not involved in our lives but rather a very personal God who takes an active role in our lives. Hebrews 8:10 (NIV) 10 …I will be their God, and they will be my people.

5. Point # 3 When Jesus came up a little closer…we discovered that He took forgiving me a step further by forgetting my sins. Hebrews 8:12 (NIV) 12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

Conclusion When Jesus moves closer to the picture taker, we see some pretty great detail. –He supplied me with the power to change by giving me an internal motivation. –He shows me that He wants a close personal relationship with me. –He tells me that He will take forgiveness to a higher level by also forgetting all my offenses that I have confessed to Him.
