What strategies will help students practice, review, and apply their learning? – Research questions and thesis statements – Cite sources during research – Note-taking during research – Organize notes – Timely feedback – Scaffolded help

4 Objectives and Success Criteria Gain an understanding of an integrated technological tool for note-taking, outlining, and citing sources that has scaffolding that supports student independence. – Participants will access teacher version of NoodleTools, add classes, review student work and make comments – Participants will take away ideas on how to utilize NoodleTools to scaffold the task of writing research papers

5 NoodleTools for Students Students can organize, create, store, and write Create [essay, speech, product…] with a bibliography Copy-and-paste relevant quotes onto notecards Paraphrase Analyze, question and add ideas Tag and pile notes Create an outline Share work with a teacher Collaborate on projects with other researchers

6 NoodleTools for Teachers Teachers: Monitor each students' progress and give feedback from within NoodleTools One-click access to shared projects, grouped by assignment Archive completed projects in drop box to show as exemplars to current students
