3 Purpose of OCC Study Group
April 17 Jan. 2014 Purpose of OCC Study Group IEEE P SG7a OCC SG is studying applications and technology in support of creating a PAR for creating a task group to write an air interface standard that supports the transmission of data by modulated lights that can be received and processed via an image sensor. This project will amend the IEEE standard for implementing OCC for scalable data rate, message broadcasts and localization (or positioning) via lighting sources such as flash light, display, LED Tag, and LED/Laser sources as the prospective transmitting and receiving devices such as camera. Yeong Min Jang, Kookmin University

4 April 17 Jan. 2014 Objective of Meeting Call for Applications about the amendment of IEEE and some study items of OCC Hearing of presentations about OCC including LED-ID services and digital signage services Discuss about the PAR and 5C Yeong Min Jang, Kookmin University

5 Jan. 2014 meeting: 4 Sessions(Mon. PM1, PM2 and Tue PM1, PM2)
Attendance: 10 attendees (Mon PM1), 9 attendees (Mon PM2), 25 attendees (Tue PM1), 15 attendees (Tue PM2). Discussions - Discussion about the second draft PAR and 5C 4. April 17 Jan. 2014 - Main focus of OCC SG: OCC applications (data communications, localization, LoS marketing, LED-ID, information reception from light sources and etc.) ITS/Telematics/Air-craft based applications (Traffic control and tracking, etc.) Etc. Discussion about PAR and 5C We discussed about the PAR and 5C for OCC SG based on IEEE We will continue to discuss in March meeting -draft PAR for OCC ( a) -draft 5C for OCC ( a) Yeong Min Jang, Kookmin University

7 Plans for March Meeting
April 17 Jan. 2014 Plans for March Meeting - Before March Plenary meeting: generate and circulate a “OCC Call for Applications Presentation” paragraph. - Call for Applications Presentations - More discussion about PAR and 5C for IEEE a - Market expectations , Implementation and deployment issues - Invite some companies: mobile operators, smart devices, LED-ID, Lighting sources, LED digital signage, information display, navigation etc. - will have 5 sessions in March meeting Yeong Min Jang, Kookmin University
