2. These were some of the comments… The Boy Scouts do not allow people to freely post on their Facebook site. So, they commented on a random BSA post.

3. The Boy Scouts did not post anything regarding to their membership policy the day it was announced, this was their first mistake. Their second mistake was not responding to negative comments posted on their wall. This caused the BSA to seem absent on their own social media page and not utilize the medium for dialogue or two-way communication Suggested Action “After much deliberation we have decided to maintain our membership policy. We believe this is in the best interest of our scouting youth and continually strive to create a safe and educational environment for our scouts while focusing on our goal which is to prepare young men for life.”

Boy Scouts of America In making our final decision we consulted many different view points. We feel as though the policy change was best for our scouts and BSA. It is our belief that creating a diverse, accepting, and safe environment for our scouts will provide the most enriching and real- world experience possible. We maintain our goal which is to prepare young men for life.
