What is ELIR Enhancement led institutional review (ELIR) is part of the Quality Enhancement Framework that all Scottish Universities have signed up to and which is overseen by the Quality Assurance Agency, an independent body reporting on quality and standards in higher education.

What is the ELIR Team looking for? An institution that: effectively monitors and reviews its provision effectively engages students and supports their learning takes a strategic approach to enhancement of the learning experience promotes a quality culture

Preparation for ELIR 2 Working Group preparing for ELIR Series of workshops, reviewing current practices Identifying case studies Identifying risk areas and taking appropriate action

Key dates for ELIR Submission of RA by 28 th August 2009 Part 1 Visit - 7 th and 8 th October 2009 Part 2 Visit - 16 th – 20 th November 2009 Draft report to be received by 15 th January 2010
