My Qatar Research on Cartoons By Joe Creaser

What I wanted to find out about I wanted to find out about the views about cartoons of children at the Um – Al Qura school in Qatar and Oxley Park in England between 8 – 12 because I like cartoons as well and wanted to find out if other children felt the same about them. I asked 30 children in the Umm – Al – Qura school and 26 children in Oxley Park.

My research on different comics The Beano: The first Beano was from July 1938 The first Beano is worth about £20,000 It is the second longest running comic in Britain It is Britain’s most popular comic

The Dandy The Dandy: It’s Britain’s longest running comic Is published by DC Thomson It’s the Beano’s arch enemy DC Thomson is the same publisher as the Beano!

How comics are Used This 1939 Beano was used to make people hate the Nazis. It had the Nazi swastika shaved into big eggo’s body!

My Conclusions I can see that most children agreed and disagreed on the same things. But on the other hand, most people asked in Qatar said that TV cartoons are better than comics, but the children asked at Oxley Park said the opposite.

My Conclusions On Age After thorough examination of the results I conclude that there is not a lot of difference between 8-10 year olds and 11 - 12 year olds on the subject of Cartoons. This means that really the majority of 8-12 year olds like cartoons as a whole which may mean that some children share the same sense of fun and humour in both countries.
