6 Enrollment Trends in CE ESL Enrollment is measured by FTES (full-time equivalent students). 2008/20092009/20102010/20112011/20122012/2013 Fall199.01184.10189.27164.35129.88 Winter177.49166.81147.57113.42100.54 Spring155.46149.38126.63100.7088.41 Summer90.5178.7577.5856.8849.22 Total:622.47579.04541.05435.35368.05 -43.43 (-7%) -37.99 (-7%) -105.7 (-20%) -67.3 (-15%)

7 Impact on Scheduling Some reduction in class offerings: not all sites at all times of day. Consolidation of class sections where indicated. Reduction of days offered at some sites to two days a week instead of four Instructor assignments may not be as full or as consistent as during peak enrollment periods. It is unlikely that any teacher will have more than 15 hours per week.

8 Potential Impact of Immigration Reform Rapid expansion of program Teachers at maximum hours Wider range of courses offered Caveat: If reform does not pass, we need to tighten up unless and until enrollment starts to grow again.

9 Work for Today: Two Tasks 1. SLO Assessment: Overview of Data Entry http://slo.sbcc.edu/docs/enterScores/eLumen% 20Scoring%20Handout.pdf 2. Division of Curriculum Across Four Terms: - Meet in same-level groups and discuss (20-30 minutes). - Bring back recommendations/ideas to discuss
