2 General Facts Fort Frederica is located on St. Simons Island which is located in the southeast corner of GA. It contains about 80 acres. There are about 263,320 visitors each year. Some buildings were made of tabby, a type of cement made of lime, sand, water, and crushed oyster shells. This is tabby.

3 Wildlife The range of wildlife at Ft. Frederica include birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, biting flies, chiggers, mosquitoes, and sand gnats. Biting flies, also called yellow flies, or deerflies.
