7. What’s Meta-Scan? So what’s Meta Data? Meta Data is information about another piece of data. Examples: Meta-Scan Title, Author, Date Published, Category, ISBN, No. of Pages and Language. Meta Data for a BOOK would be the Meta Data for a DOCUMENT could be File Name, Department, Document Type, Format and Date. Re-Rite 6.1 can interpret Meta Data information! Meta-Scan is similar to a normal scan job, however additional information (Meta Data) is transferred with the scanned image file (TIFF or PDF).
